The SAP system categorizes users into several types for different purposes as shown in the table below:<\/p>\n

Dialog<\/td>\nIndividual, interactive system access.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
System<\/td>\nBackground processing and communication within a system (such as RFC users for ALE, Workflow, TMS, and CUA).<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Communication<\/td>\nDialog-free communication for external RFC calls.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Service<\/td>\nDialog user available to a larger, anonymous group of users.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Reference<\/td>\nGeneral, non-person related users that allows the assignment of additional identical authorizations, such as for Internet users created with transaction SU01. No logon is possible.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/blockquote>\n
